Annapolis, MD - New Energy Equity and RER Energy Group were recently awarded New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) funding for three solar projects in New York totaling over 4MW of combined capacity.
The funding was awarded as part of NY-Sun, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s $1 billion initiative to advance the scale-up of solar and move the state closer to having a sustainable, self-sufficient solar industry.
New Energy Equity and RER Energy group are working with multiple local public school systems and municipal governments in upstate New York to construct the solar projects over the next 6 months, which will provide renewable electricity to the host customers at a significant savings.
New Energy Equity and RER Energy Group co-developed the projects, while New Energy Equity will organize the financing for the projects, and RER Energy Group will lead engineering and construction. Groundbreaking and project completion are scheduled for the spring and early summer of 2015.
