Lift As We Climb Foundation

In 2020, New Energy Equity established the Lift As We Climb (LAWC) Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, to uplift and invest in local and solar communities.

Leaving Behind a Better World

As leaders in the solar industry, we are proud to champion causes and nonprofits that strengthen our communities and help create a more prosperous future for all.

Each year, New Energy Equity contributes a portion of its profits toward community impact, based on goals set throughout the year. The LAWC Foundation then directs these funds to nonprofits dedicated to creating a better world through solar energy projects, education, and workforce training.

The foundation has raised nearly $800,000 since it began, an average of $200,000 annually.

Kevin Nguyen

“The Lift as We Climb Foundation was created and is run by the employees of New Energy Equity. Thanks to their commitment, 98% of every dollar raised goes directly to deserving charities — far above the national nonprofit average of 80%. Each year, we invite New Energy Equity employees to help select causes that are connected to the solar industry or rooted in the communities where we live and work. I’m proud that since our inception, we’ve contributed over $700,000 to strengthen our local communities and advance the solar industry.”

Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (“CRAB”)

In 2021, New Energy Equity partnered with CRAB, an organization providing premier sailing instruction to people with disabilities, recovering warriors, and children from underserved communities. Through the Lift As We Climb Foundation, NEE donated, engineered, installed, and manages a 25kW roof-mounted solar system that powers CRAB’s new Adaptive Boating Center—reducing its utility costs to zero for the next 25 years.
