New Energy Equity exceeds goal in donation to Folds of Honor scholarships
Each year, New Energy’s Lift As We Climb Foundation contributes to nonprofits dedicated to the company’s core purpose of leaving behind a better world. Last fall, the foundation hosted a golf tournament with the goal of raising $50,000 for Folds of Honor, a national organization that provides scholarships to the spouses and children of military members and first responders who have fallen or been disabled while serving.
“New Energy Equity is honored to be able to give back to our local communities through the inaugural Lift As We Climb Golf Tournament which supported Folds of Honor,” said Jim Wrathall, New Energy Equity general counsel and president of the Lift As We Climb Foundation. “Through the generosity of our customers, partners, and employees, we are thrilled to have exceeded our goal and proud to make a lasting impact through that donation in the lives of more than 10 Folds of Honor scholarship recipients.”
In addition to helping the dependents of American service members pursue their educational dreams, Folds of Honor also provides scholarships to the dependents of first responders.
“I would like to personally thank New Energy Equity and its incredible employees for organizing an outstanding first-year event to benefit military and first responders’ families,” said Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor. “New Energy Equity understands the importance of an education and wants to do something about it. The funds that were raised will directly provide academic scholarships to individuals who deserve and need our help.”
